Anisa International: Designed for Beauty | Publication Design

As part of a Collaborative Learning Course at SCAD Atlanta, I was on a team of designers, writers, and photographers to produce a publication honoring the 50th birthday of Anisa Telwar-Kaicker, owner of Anisa International. I also served as the event manager for the duration of the course, setting up client visits and critique sessions throughout the 10-week project. In producing the publication, the book was divided into three sections to highlight the owner, her product, and the company as a whole. I was entrusted the portion of design that contributed to Anisa’s personal story, which I tried to translate into visual poetry with a nostalgic approach.

The design incorporated acrylic pages that had screenprinted art created with the brushes Anisa international makes. We wanted to interpret the artistry and elegance of Anisa’s vision for the company.

The book cover was a two-fold approach: a screenprinted acrylic jacket with “Anisa” spelled out vertically, and an image behind of her brushes to provide color and discovery as one views the book.
